Ceremony in Tivat: The first Turkish Airlines plane landed from Istanbul

With the traditional greeting of water cannons, the passengers of the first, new Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to Tivat were welcomed at Tivat Airport.

The flight lasts about two hours, and 80 percent of tickets have already been booked today, which is why Turkish Airlines will certainly increase the number of planned weekly rotations. By the way, thanks to the connection with Istanbul, Tivat will be connected with as many as 80 world destinations.

The host, the executive director of ACG, wished a warm welcome and reminded that the negotiations on the opening of the new line began in September 2021.

"The establishment of the air bridge between Istanbul and Tivat fulfills one of my professional wishes that I have had since arriving in Montenegro. It is important for the Airports of Montenegro that TA recognized all the possibilities of connecting with Tivat, and we are also grateful to the Ministry of Capital Investments, which, as a department, supported this project ", said Jandreoski.

The General Director of TA, Bilal Eksi, assessed that today is an important event for both Montenegro and Turkish Airlines.

"I am pleased to have met in one of the most beautiful countries in the Balkans, Montenegro, and that in addition to the line to Podgorica, which opened in 2010, we add another wonderful destination to our network - Tivat, and thus strengthen ties with this beautiful country. "We are happy that from now on we will be able to connect Tivat with more than 80 destinations, via Istanbul, with flights that do not last longer than three hours," he said.

"Flights to the pearl of the Bay of Kotor, Tivat, start with three flights a week," said the TA director with an important note.

"However, by increasing the number of frequencies between the two countries, we also plan to increase the number of flights to Montenegro. We believe that in addition to the natural beauty and tourist potential of Tivat, we have the opportunity to increase capacity with both domestic and foreign travelers. The government is very interested in this line and 80 percent of reservations have already been fulfilled, so three flights a week will not be enough. I believe that in the next period we will increase the number of flights to Tivat ", he emphasized.

Turkish Airlines flies to 129 countries, and Tivat is the 340th world destination included in their network.
