Kotor - Ocean Lava Montenegro triathlon race on Sunday, May 15

In Kotor on Sunday, 15.05. will be held Ocean Lava Montenegro triathlon race, the sixth in a row, and as part of the Ocean Lava series of competitions held in 12 countries.

The race is organized by the Multisport Academy Mayer and the Tourist Organization of the Municipality of Kotor.

Triathlon is a very attractive Olympic sport that consists of three disciplines: swimming, cycling and running, which take place in competitions in that order. Short distance races (sprint and Olympic triathlon) have been held in Montenegro since 2012, while this race is the only one in Montenegro in the half distance or as it is popularly called "half Ironman" distance which includes 1.9 km of swimming, 90km of cycling and 21km of running.

This year, due to participation in the race, about 550 triathletes from 42 countries will stay in Kotor, which, among other things, provides an opportunity to promote Kotor, the Bay of Kotor and the entire country as a tourist and sports destination. Given the attractiveness of the locations where all three disciplines will be held: swimming in the waters of the Bay of Kotor, cycling on the section Kotor-Kamenari and running along the entire Dobrota coast, takes place in the UNESCO World Heritage Site and provides a special experience for all participants. and therefore represents a world exclusive.

This year, in addition to the main event - the triathlon race, which will be held on Sunday, the day before, May 14. at 12:00 there will be a children's race called "Ant kids race". All children aged 0-12 will be able to take part in the race.

Everything will be preceded by a dinner on 13.05. starting at 20:00, will be prepared for all participants on the plateau in front of the City Cafe "Impressions". Various dishes and sweet delicacies will be prepared by catering facilities and NGOs from Kotor. We would like to take this opportunity to invite all those who participated in previous years, and on that occasion received the flag, to display it this year in the days of the triathlon.
