Kolašin is becoming a prestigious place for winter tourism, said Prime Minister Dritan Abazović. Abazović and Minister of Economic Development and Tourism Goran Đurović visited the Kolašin 1600 ski resort today.
The Prime Minister said that these days we are witnessing something that we have long wished for and that the ski resort in Kolašin is full of skiers and tourists.
"Not only is it a successful tourist season, but records were broken yesterday. "Everything that happened in the previous seven days shows that Montenegro and Kolašin are becoming a prestigious place for winter tourism," said Abazović.
He also announced that work will be done to improve the infrastructure and added that he hopes that we will welcome the next season with a tunnel connecting Andrijevica and Berane.
"I think that Montenegro is getting its own Davos. "Kolašin is the Davos of Montenegro and a better place than Davos," said Abazović.
He said that the Government's goal is to make it not a regional but a European and world ski resort.
Đurović apologized to those who waited in the crowds on the way to the ski resorts in Kolašin and said that the Government will do everything to improve the infrastructure.
"This is the capacity at the moment, but in the coming period we will make an effort to improve the infrastructure, that we will make an effort to have a new garage ready next year, to have even more catering facilities", said Đurović.
He pointed out that Kolašin is close to rivaling the ski resorts in the region.
"We are close to rivaling the region, Jahorina, Kopaonik. I think we will overtake them quickly. What we are aiming for is not for this to be a regional but a European and world ski resort. Our aspiration is to repair, build infrastructure, to improve Montenegro in terms of tourism and for Montenegro to experience 365 days of full tourism, and I think we are on the right path to sustainable and stable tourism in Montenegro", said Đurović.
