The idea came from Duško Gregović from the Local Community of Petrovac, and last year's event attracted a large number of visitors.
Ksenija Šoljaga from the Local Community of Petrovac points out for the Radio Budva program that this event is the result of a joint effort and the desire to enrich the tourist offer, especially after the successful edition last year.
The squid hunt aims to extend the tourist season and bring the community together around the tradition of squid fishing.
Compared to the previous year, the organizers expect a larger number of participants and teams, which further encourages the competitive spirit. Entries are open via social media, and the prizes for the best contestants are enticing.
The event includes the preparation of squid on the boardwalk, with tasting of local specialties, wine and beer.
Šoljaga invites local housewives to join the event by bringing their specialties, emphasizing the importance of unity and support in the organization.
"This manifestation represents a perfect combination of tradition, gastronomy and entertainment, and Budva will once again be the center of gathering for all lovers of seafood delicacies", according to the organizers.
