One of them is Gavrilo Knezevic, better known as Gavrilok. ShareMontenegro has already revealed the incredible gift of this guy with photos and a story.
How to get to the lake?
Captain's Lake is located on the mountain Lukavica, which belongs to the Moračka Mountains. Captain's Lake, which is located at 1,678 meters above sea level, can be reached by car from the direction of Nikšić via the mines "Zagrad", Luka Bojović, Bara Bojović and Nikša's Kiljan.
The ride takes about an hour and fifteen minutes. The road is asphalted to Luka Bojović, and from there to the lake it is macadam. Passenger cars arrive at the lake with a careful drive. The other route to the lake, from Veli Duboko, is reserved only for the strongest "SUVs".
Legends that make the lake even more mystical
According to the legend, the captain of Nikšić, Mušović, had a katun on the site of today's lake. Above his katun, in the mountain rocks, was a spring in the waters of which the mountain villas bathed. Every night, at the source of the villa, they would gather, release spring water and hide from people's eyes, bathe and drink clear spring water. Before dawn, they would close the spring until the next gathering.
One night, the villa that was the last to leave the spring forgot to close the spring, so the water flooded Captain Musovic's katun and the surrounding valleys. Then the fairies moved the spring lower and its waters continued to feed the lake. That is how the lake and the name Captain's Lake were created. The calm, blue-blue water of the lake during warmer days attracts anglers, swimmers, but also those who just want to enjoy the view of its glistening surface.
