German TV Hessischer Rundfunk broadcast a travelogue about Montenegro
The German state television Hessischer Rundfunk broadcast a travel show called Experience Montenegro / Montenegro Erleben /, which recorded millions of viewers, the National Tourist Organization (NTO) announced.
The host of the show, Nina Heins, guided the viewers through a miraculous trip through Montenegro, focusing on people, active vacation, gastronomy, Montenegrin culture and tradition.
"The small Balkan country is still hidden from many, but Montenegro has an incredible amount to offer. Old towns along the Adriatic Sea, the Bay of Kotor and breathtaking national parks, "said Heins.
Footage for the show was filmed at attractive tourist locations in Bar, Ulcinj, Kotor and Perast, Herceg Novi, Plužine, Danilovgrad, Pljevlja and the national parks Durmitor, Skadar Lake and Lovćen.
"In the mountains of Montenegro, we have reached our extreme physical limits, climbing to the highest peak of Montenegro, Bobotov kuk. We met too kind people and at the same time we discovered a lot about love. I fell in love with Montenegro and its traditional cuisine. Here we experienced the real adrenaline on the river Tara, enjoying the zip line and rafting ", said Heins, describing the north of Montenegro.
Through a conversation with the guide, Heins introduces the viewers to the coastal and continental part.
"In Stari Bar, I felt the diversity of cultures, and in the city itself we saw buildings of different religions. I am surprised by the mutual intimacy between people and I am interested in how many days off you have if you celebrate all these religious holidays ", she asked the guide jokingly in the show.
The next destination on the German journalist's trip is Skadar Lake National Park.
"Marko (guide) and I are going on a kayak tour. In that way, we will get to know the natural beauties of this national park best, "said Hains, who during the tour shows the spectators how to make a necklace from a water lily flower.
Also, the beauties of Herceg Novi were presented in the show.
"This city is located in the west of Montenegro. There I meet Natasha who takes me by boat to the Blue Cave which is one of the attractions of this city. On the way there, I want to find out what people from this region are like, "said Heins.
During the tour, Natasa tells her that people from Montenegro are very relaxed and that life in Montenegro is not as fast as in other larger areas.
As special tourist attractions, the host singles out the Ulcinj Saltworks Nature Reserve, Velika plaža, Gospa od Škrpjela Island, Ostrog Monastery, Lovćen Mausoleum, Husein Pasha Mosque in Pljevlja, Žlijebi Village in Herceg Novi, Stara Maslina in Bar, the walls of the Old Town of Kotor and the peninsula St. Stefan.
Summarizing his impressions, Heins concludes that so much can be experienced in Montenegro.
"We are saying goodbye to this small Balkan country, which has an area like Niedersachsen (a province in Germany). You can experience so much here. We were warmly welcomed everywhere and we return with beautiful impressions, and we bring with us a sense of relaxed living characteristic of Montenegro, "said Heins at the end of the show.
The NTO hosted German television journalists who paid a study visit to Montenegro in July and August.
