Triathlon is finally coming to Plavsko Lake and Prokletije!

One of the most modern and popular sports of today is finally coming to Prokletije ?

The first "Prokletije Sprint Triathlon" will be held on Saturday, June 26, with the joint efforts of the Tourist Organizations Gusinje and Plav, and in cooperation with the Triathlon Club "Kotor", they confirmed for the portal #ShareMontenegro from the Tourist Organization Plav.

Competitors will start with the discipline of swimming in the length of 750m on the beautiful Plav Lake, the largest lake of glacial origin in Montenegro.

"The organization of the triathlon is an opportunity for us to promote Plav, Lake Plav and Prokletije as a destination where various sports events and competitions can be organized. That this is realistic is also shown by the fact that the European Flying Championship was held on the lake, and the international Lim regatta starts from the rafts of Lake Plav. Also, the competitors will be convinced of the potential for the development of cycling. 

The part of the race that includes cycling is also part of the track of our cycling race Osmica, which we also organize in cooperation with TO Gusinje. We believe that the competitors will enjoy the competition, but also the beauties of Plav, Gusinje and Prokletije, "said the director of the Plav Tourist Organization, Samira Canović. 

After the triathletes complete the first phase of swimming in Lake Plav, the transition to the second part of the competition follows: an unforgettable view of the Plav-Gusinje valley. The transition to the last phase of the competition is taking place in Gusinje, in front of one of the most important monuments of cultural heritage of this region from the 17th century - the Vizier's Mosque.

From here, run on the 5 km long trail that passes through Alipaša's springs - one of the largest karst springs in Montenegro and an unavoidable tourist destination for all tourists who come to Prokletije. From Alipaša's springs, the trail leads to the center of Gusinje, where the goal of the race will be. 

"Damn Triathlon is a new event that is expected to be one of the most interesting in this area this season. The event will take place through a four-day agenda from June 24 to June 27, while the main event is planned for June 26. at 10 am, when the individual and team competition will take place. We hope that along with Prokletije Skyrunning, but also other efforts we are making, Triathlon will help promote Prokletije as one of the most important centers of active vacation "- said the director of the Tourist Organization of Gusinje, Irfan Radončić.
