The island of Gospa od Škrjela (Our Lady of the Rocks) near Perast in Boka Kotorska was included in the list of the 25 most beautiful places in Europe, as chosen by the influential magazine Travel & Leisure.
The popular destination in Montenegro took a high 4th place on this list.
The authors state that driving along the road that surrounds the Bay of Kotor offers many scenic pleasures - "but no one deserves to stop and look more than Our Lady of Škrpjela, an artificial island on the coast of Perast that is made of rocks and dominated by a Roman Catholic church from the 17th century".
The magazine that published the list has a network of hundreds of writers and photographers around the world, regularly providing its readers with local insight into the best places to stay, eat, see and explore. They cover small towns and big cities, discover hidden gems and proven destinations, beaches and lakes, mountains and valleys, national parks, cruises, top gastronomic experiences...
