At 6 p.m., over 20,000 lights were lit, as many as one of the largest Christmas trees in the region, 13 meters high. In addition to the Christmas tree and decorations from previous years, in Portonovi this year there are also many new elements of decoration and places for taking photos that attract the sighs of the guests.
The ceremony was accompanied last night by children from the Boka School International children's choirs from Portonovi and D-moll from Podgorica.
"This is just one of a series of activities that await us during December and January, and the largest part of the activities, i.e. 16 days, 16 concerts, 16 days of the holiday bazaar, starts from December 23 until January 7," said the marketing director and communication in Portonovi, Adrijana Husić.
Husić pointed out that they are especially happy in Portonovi that this year there is a greater interest among guests and visitors to spend their holidays at the sea, and that the guests choose Herceg Novi.
There is currently a special offer for accommodation in Portonovi with a starting price of 192 euros per night, for two people, which is available until January 31 and includes many benefits such as free massage, breakfast, use of the gym and many other benefits.
The atmosphere in Portonovi will heat up from December 23 to January 7, when a bazaar is planned on Marina Square with daily concerts and a light show. The holiday bazaar will be open on weekdays from 16:00 to 23:00, and on weekends and holidays from 11:00 to 23:00 and will offer visitors various delicacies, pancakes, fritters, doughnuts, burgers, wings, pizzas and many other specialties. When it comes to concerts, regional and world famous performers arrive in Portonova: Michael Jackson Tribute Band, Ensemble Toć, Fantom, Elemental, Marijana Zlopaša, Ida Prester and Lollobrigida, Mostar Sevdah Reunion, MKDSL, klapa Kaše, Trio Gušt, Tijana Bogićević, the bands Girls Boys and Toys, Remake, Low Voltage and Ognjen Gvozdenović, DJ Burak Yeter, and the Symphony Orchestra, which will perform Best of '80s hits.
Before the beginning of the holiday season, Portonovi recorded another significant achievement - in mid-November, the millionth visitor visited the resort this year, certainly thanks to the large number of events organized during this year.
