The first Luštica Bay international carnival will be held on Sunday, from 9 to 11 p.m., in the Marina Village, in cooperation with the non-governmental association for Kotor celebrations "Fešta" from Kotor. About two hundred masks and thirteen carnival ensembles from the country and the world will participate.
The carnival in Luštica Bay represents the continuation of the tradition of the famous coastal masquerades, manifestations that have delighted the inhabitants of the Adriatic Riviera and numerous tourists for centuries. Carnival events have a particularly long history of being held in Kotor, where they are successfully nurtured by NVU "Fešta", which has been the organizer of Kotor's carnival festivities for 20 years and the founder of the International Summer Kotor Carnival.
"We were pleased to accept the invitation to co-organize the first Luštica Bay carnival. We hope that the Luštica Bay carnival will be on the map of European carnival cities as early as next year and that it will grow into one of the most attractive in Europe," said Vasilija Bajrović, president of the NGO "Fešta".
The first Luštica Bay carnival will be another opportunity to get to know local customs, but also different cultures and carnival traditions from around the world. The carnival groups "Za dispet" from Kotor, "Maškara" from Herceg Novi, "Feštađuni" from Budva and "Maškarada" from Tivat will show their skills and cheerful festival mood, and ensembles from Bolivia, Brazil, Italy, Serbia will perform alongside them. , Croatia and North Macedonia. The carnival ensembles Brasil Bahia and Mantok Samba will certainly attract the special attention of visitors with their color, dance and attractive performance.
The carnival parade starts from the big breakwater at 8:45 p.m., will parade through the Marina Village, and then from 9 p.m. in the Amphitheater, the carnival groups will present themselves individually with a special choreography. A real revue of colorful masks and costumes from different historical eras is expected, and the popular majorettes from Novalja and city music from Novi and Kotor will also join. Musical accompaniment and playful notes will be provided by the band Briganti di terra d'Otranto with a concert at Mali Lukobran from 9:30 p.m.
