Via Ferrata Piva brings a completely new dimension to active tourism in Montenegro—an experience that combines untouched nature, adrenaline, and a safe adventure.

Located in the spectacular Piva Canyon along the Piva River, this route is the first certified via ferrata in the country and is already becoming a must-visit destination for all lovers of active holidays.

Opened in October 2024, Via Ferrata Piva was developed as part of an EU project through the IPA cross-border cooperation program between Montenegro and Serbia, in partnership with the municipalities of Plužine and Tutin. This collaboration has introduced a new level of tourism offering to the region and attracts visitors from around the world.

The 1.5-kilometer route leads you along impressive cliffs, right above the emerald river, offering a unique perspective of the canyon—previously accessible only to experienced climbers. With a maximum height of 130 meters above the river and a combination of an exciting horizontal traverse and a vertical ascent of up to 80 meters, this adventure offers the perfect balance between challenge and enjoyment.

What makes Via Ferrata Piva special is its accessibility. With a B/C difficulty rating, the route is suitable even for beginners, without prior climbing experience. With professional guides and full safety equipment included in the tour, visitors can relax and fully focus on the experience.

The tour lasts on average between 2.5 and 3 hours—just enough time to fully immerse yourself in the canyon environment, complete all sections of the route, and take photo breaks that will remain lasting memories. The via ferrata is available to guests aged 12 and older (with parental consent), while the maximum allowed weight is 120 kg.

The view of the river deep below, the feel of the rock under your hands, and the silence of the canyon—interrupted only by the sounds of nature—create unforgettable moments. That's why visitors from all over the world describe this adventure as one of the most authentic experiences they've ever had.

If you're looking for a way to discover Montenegro from a different perspective, push your limits, and enjoy one of the most beautiful natural settings in the region, Via Ferrata Piva is the perfect choice.
