Amphoras and wines from the first underwater winery in Montenegro

"Nevres' patent, a completely new idea on the Montenegrin coast, are refined amphorae and wine bottles from the sea. About 70 times each amphora or bottle of wine as a new product passes through his hands and his family. In the end we get a product that has an artistic breadth, it gives us the breath of the sea. Everything that has to do with the sea and the Bay of Kotor is art, nature and the human factor and of course the love that his family really invests "- said Dr. Aleksandar Joksimović, director of the Institute of Marine Biology, opening the second exhibition of patented, unique, printed, declared, naturally enriched amphorae and wines from the sea, patented by B.Sc. Nevres Đerić, today on the plantation "Školjke Boke" Orahovac.

The exhibits at the exhibition are also a confirmation that there are various shells in our seabed. This is biodiversity that we are constantly talking about and that we need to preserve, I am always happy when I can promote things like this in Montenegro, said Joksimović. 





"This is an opportunity to see this biodiversity with the naked eye, because overgrowths are created over time and they tell us about a classification, the distribution of these species, shellfish and other organisms. We are not all in a position to dive and look under the sea, but this is an opportunity to enjoy exactly that ambience and to promote what the sea does for us "- Joksimović pointed out.

"Nevres has been cooperating with us from the Institute of Marine Biology for almost 30 years and is the initiator of many environmental actions, environmental behavior. The entire farm is based on ecological principles. If the first award for ecology in Montenegro is shared, I publicly say that it should be an award to my dear friend Nevres Đerić "- said Dr. Joksimović.

"He made a serious and high-quality, new thing as an offer in the tourist economy of Boka and Montenegro." With serious work, Nevres has made a quality product so that amphora and wine from the depths of the sea can be available to everyone in the original packaging - and in a restaurant, house, hotel or any other space. I believe that they will be interested when it comes to tourists, as well as that tourism businessmen will recognize and have understanding for investing in such a project "- said Dr. Rade Coso. 




Djeric and his family have been working on this project for more than 10 years.

"I have noticed, using tile as a weight for patents for accepting oysters, that a large number of algae and shellfish are accepted through the process of biocenosis. Then I tried the same with amphorae because they would also protect them and offer the market something new, that is, tested, refined, unique amphorae "- says Djeric.

Amphoras, he explains, must be kept in water for at least five years. In addition to amphorae, bottles of wine, which are five years old and older, sorted by year in the first underwater winery in Montenegro, were placed in the sea.

"Each must individually go through the hands as a technical solution 70 to 80 times, ie. in the very cycle of natural events from biodiversity, biocenosis. I move them 4 to 5 times a year to a certain depth in order to allow the food and overgrowth chain, "said Djeric.

The exhibition is open to all interested on weekdays from 1 pm to 6 pm at the "Školjke Boke" plantation in Orahovac.
