Montenegrin label Rabbit Records, in cooperation with Made in New York Competition and Festival INC from New York (USA), this year realizes two festivals within which you will have the opportunity to enjoy a total of thirteen programs, which will be from 16 to 26 June provide the audience with an unusual musical experience.
After we were forced to postpone the sixth festival announced for 2021 due to the epidemiological situation at the time, this year we are pleased to announce the realization of that edition of the festival, and seven days later the seventh Made in New York Jazz Festival 2022!
The sixth edition of the festival will be held at well-known jazz locations in Montenegro on June 17 at the SYNCHRO open stage in the nautical resort of Porto Montenegro in Tivat and on June 19 in the atrium of The Capital Plaza in Podgorica, all starting at 9 p.m. World jazz stars will perform, joined by local and regional performers: John Lee (bass guitar), Cyrus Chestnut (piano), Stanley Jordan (guitar), Vince Ector (drums), Lezlie Harrison (vocals), Freddie Hendrix (trumpet) , Yaacov Mayman (saxophone, flute), Ivan Aleksijević (piano), Šule Jovović (guitar), Vladimir Maraš (piano, keyboards) and Predrag Milutinović (drums). "Drumboats" from Belgrade will perform on Saturday, June 18 at 22:00 in the Sejdef Jazz Club in Podgorica.
The seventh edition of the festival will be held at the same locations a week later - on June 24 in Tivat and June 26 in Podgorica, and will host some of the biggest names in the world jazz scene: Camille Thurman (saxophone), Allan Harris (guitar), Benny Benack III ), Darrell Green (drums), Jesús Molina (piano), Russell Hall (double bass), Yaacov Mayman (saxophone, flute), and the stage will be shared by Filip Bulatović (piano, keyboards), Šule Jovović (guitar), Vladimir Maraš piano, keyboards) and our guest from Berlin Ben Kraef (saxophone). On Saturday, June 25, at the Sejdef Jazz Club, from 10:30 pm, the "MAPO keys band" will perform - an author's project by Filip Bulatović, pianist and conductor of the RTS Big Band.
In the period from 16 to 26 June, we are preparing for the audience accompanying festival programs - free workshops, several master class lectures led by artists from the United States, as well as street art music performances by various jazz ensembles.
The day before both concerts, in Tivat (June 16 and 23) within the Porto Montenegro complex, on the plateau in front of the Mortgage Bank, starting at 8 pm, "Street Jam Session" programs will be held. Master class - free music workshops will be held at the Jazz Club Sejdefa on June 19 and 26 at 1 pm, while the famous band Kuhinjazz will present their original material at the same location at a concert on June 21 at 10 pm.
The price of a single ticket for concerts on the Synchro stage in Porto Montenegro in Tivat and in the atrium of The Capital Plaza in Podgorica until June 13 will be 15 EUR, and after that date, the price will be 20 EUR. The price of individual tickets for concerts at the Sejdefa Jazz Club will be 10 Eur. Tickets will be on sale from Wednesday, May 18.
