What awaits us this summer in the Montenegrin Alps (Prokletije mountain)?

On the first of May, with the ascent of Tromeđa, Prokletije was symbolically handed over to mountaineers, thus opening the summer season in Plav. This interesting event gathered over 50 participants from the country and abroad at the place where, at an altitude of 2,366 meters above sea level, the borders of Montenegro, Albania and Kosovo meet. Ahmet Reković captured the beautiful atmosphere from the ascent with a camera.

The Plav Tourist Organization believes that the event is a great prelude to the summer in Prokletije.
And what else awaits us this summer on the mountain that is rightly called the "Montenegro Alps"?

"After climbing Tromeđa, we are expecting the Lim regatta, the Prokletije triathlon, the bicycle race "Osmica", several hiking trips - Putačama Hrida, Abdija's lake, Bajrak, Visitor, Čakor, kayaking Ljuča, and in cooperation with TO Andrijevica and paragliding" - say from TO Plav noting that it will support all activities that contribute to the promotion of Plav.

Most tourists come to Plav precisely because of the hiking trips.

"Most of our tourists are mountaineers. They come to visit all the attractions of the Prokletije National Park, and the government is most interested in the Peaks of the Balkans international trail. When it comes to Plav, tourists mostly visit Hridsko, Plavsko and Visitorsko jezero" - say TO Plav.

Pedal boats and kayaks can be rented on Lake Plav, which is an unmissable experience when visiting this northern city. What else do they recommend to tourists during the summer?

"Hridsko, Visitorisko and Abdija's lake, then the Redžepagića Tower, the botanical garden Velemun, the Old Mosque and the monastery of St. Three in Brezojevice. For those who like a short walk in nature, we recommend the path to Vardište" - say TO Plav for the portal .
