Bokeška Noć 2026: Kotor Celebrates Tradition, Sea, Light, and Music Again This Saturday
This summer, Kotor will shine once again in the spirit of one of the most beautiful and visited events on the Montenegrin coast—"Bokeška noć" (Boka Night), which will take place on Saturday, August 22, starting at 9:00 PM. This traditional festival, recognized as an intangible cultural asset of national significance, brings a unique blend of music, light, and the sea, with thousands of visitors expected to attend.
Sea Parade and Fireworks The program in the bay will open with the Kotor Town Band alongside sailboats from the "Lahor" Sailing Club. Following this, the audience and jury will witness 25 decorated boats enter the corridor, accompanied by seven tugboats.
- The Competition: The boats will parade across three laps to compete for a total prize pool of €5,000, along with special prizes provided by sponsors.
- Fireworks: The parade and award ceremony will be followed by a spectacular musical fireworks display managed by the renowned company "Mirnovec."
Music Across Old Town Squares After the maritime program, celebrations will move to the squares of Kotor's Old Town:
- Pjaca od Sata (Clock Tower Square): Fankulo Band & Ansambl Toć
- Pjaca Svetog Tripuna (St. Tryphon Square): Kira Band, AudioStorm, and Dimi
- Pjaca od Muzeja (Museum Square): VIS Gambor and Kol Centar
- Pjaca Svetog Luke (St. Luke Square): Electronic music featuring Lukapx b2b Čikić, Danilo Kas b2b Sergej Krstić, and Džebra b2b Klachar
- Pjaca od Salate (Salad Square): Jelena & Kiko
Parking Guidelines Organizers advise drivers to park by 8:00 PM to avoid traffic congestion. A section of the main waterfront parking lot facing the sea will be out of service. Recommended parking locations:
- Near the city cemetery
- Above and below the "Bokelj" stadium (Puč)
- Near the old Autoboka station
- Benovo
- Shopping Center "Kamelija"
- Dobrota area: Sveti Stasi and near St. Matthias Church
Solar Boat Transport BELLA BOKA is offering promotional solar boat transport for €5:
- Dobrota Route: Departs from below "Kavalin" at 7:30 PM, stops at St. Matthias Church dock, and leaves for the waterfront at 7:40 PM.
- Prčanj Route: Departs Prčanj waterfront at 7:30 PM, stops at Muo, and leaves for the waterfront at 7:40 PM.
- Both lines drop passengers off at Luža. Returns are scheduled for 11:30 PM and 1:00 AM.
Important Info for Boat Owners
- All vessels must vacate the event bay by 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 22, for corridor setup.
- Maritime speed limits will be strictly enforced with heightened surveillance. Offending drivers risk fines to protect decorated boats and participants.
- Speedboat owners must relocate passenger drop-offs to the Big City Park by 4:00 PM and keep clear of the event area.
