Travelers between Montenegro and Serbia are set for significantly enhanced regional connectivity this upcoming winter season. Both Air Serbia and Air Montenegro have announced substantial capacity increases, ramping up flight frequencies to meet growing demand across Tivat, Podgorica, and Belgrade.

As the winter flight schedule officially takes effect late October, the two flag carriers will offer a combined record-breaking 66 weekly flights between Montenegro and Serbia's capital. This expansion will ensure flexible schedules, seamless transit options through Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (BEG), and better accessibility for business travelers, tourists, and digital nomads alike.

Air Serbia Expands Tivat Operations to 3 Daily Flights

National carrier Air Serbia is significantly scaling up its operations, particularly boosting connections to the Montenegrin coast:

  • Tivat (TIV) – Belgrade (BEG): Air Serbia is increasing its frequency from Tivat to 3 daily flights (21 weekly departures), offering consistent year-round access to the Boka Bay region.
  • Podgorica (TGD) – Belgrade (BEG): The airline maintains its strong presence in the capital with 3 daily flights (21 weekly departures).

In total, Air Serbia will operate 42 weekly flights connecting Montenegro to Belgrade, providing easy single-stop connectivity to dozens of European and long-haul destinations across its global network.

Air Montenegro Boosts Coastal Frequencies by 42%

Montenegro's national carrier, Air Montenegro, is matching this regional growth by expanding its winter schedule to ensure robust winter connectivity:

  • Tivat (TIV) – Belgrade (BEG): Air Montenegro is increasing its service from 7 weekly flights last winter to 10 weekly flights this season—a notable 42% boost in capacity for coastal travelers.
  • Podgorica (TGD) – Belgrade (BEG): The route remains stable with 14 weekly flights (2 daily departures).

Altogether, Air Montenegro will operate 24 weekly flights linking Podgorica and Tivat directly to Belgrade.

What This Means for Travelers

This major expansion transforms travel flexibility across the region. With multiple daily departure slots spread across morning, afternoon, and evening hours:

  • Better Regional Hub Access: Passengers connecting via Belgrade can easily line up with morning and afternoon long-haul and European flights.
  • Convenient Coastal Access: Tivat remaining active with up to 4–5 combined daily departures ensures that coastal communities and remote workers enjoy year-round connectivity without needing to travel exclusively via Podgorica.
  • Competitive Fares & Flexibility: Dual-carrier operations on both routes provide options across different price points and schedules.

Tickets for the winter timetable are already available on the official websites of both carriers.
